Madhya Pradesh becomes power-surplus state

Bhopal: It was informed at the meeting of the Energy Department that Madhya Pradesh has become power-surplus state. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed to ensure better utilisation of surplus power.

Renewable Energy and Mineral Resources Development: Shri Chouhan said that process of MoU for use of state’s resources should be simple and transparent. MoUs of companies not starting work within prescribed time-limit should be cancelled. He directed to frame a new policy for minor minerals. He said that mining should not be wanton. It should be ensured that mining work is undertaken through Gram Panchayats and small contractors. Local labourers should get employment in mining of minor minerals like sand, gravel etc. Prices of minerals should not be steep. There should not be much burden on common people. He directed Mineral Resources Development Department to present a base paper regarding this during these 100 days. At the meeting, Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla presented 100-day action plans of departments. He informed that feeder separation works to the tune of Rs. 6000 crore have been completed. Efforts are also underway to bring down transmission losses from 40 percent to 25 percent. Sarni power plant will be ready for unveiling by February-end.

Sports: Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that maximum use of available funds should be ensured during 100-day action plan period. Extremely necessary repair works should be completed. Talented players should also be identified at district and block level.

Employment: The Chief Minister said that new sectors should be explored for employment generation. He said that employment possibilities should also be expanded in both industry and service sectors.

Industries: Shri Chouhan said that identification of land for new industrial areas should be included in 100-day action plan. He directed to make single-window system more effective and the best in the country and world. He directed to pay special attention to implementation of Mukhyamantri Swarozgar Yojana. He also laid emphasis on developing Gwalior Mela Authority on the lines of Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. He informed that process will be undertaken to identify the fairs attended by over 5000 people and data upgradation of Endowment Department’s assets.
