Law to be framed for fees fixation of private schools: CM

Bhopal: District-wise Quality Improvement Action Plan has been chalked out in the state to ensure quality in school education. It will be implemented from the next session. Draft of law for fees fixation of private schools has also been chalked out. Fees will be fixed jointly be school management committees and parent-teacher associations. This information was given at the quarterly review of the School Education Department at Mantralaya here today. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Shri Chouhan directed to make available text-books in all the schools by April-end. The Chief Minister said that Rs. 6 thousand crore is needed to establish teaching infrastructure in the state under the Right to Education Act. Appeal will be made to the Union Government to make available these funds immediately.
The Chief Minister directed to chalk out a scheme to promote teachers who have performed outstandingly. It was informed during the review that effective control and monitoring of teaching in schools will be ensured as a result of constitution of Rajya Shiksha Sewa. It was also informed that a law has also been drafted for public libraries’ management. Considering state’s teaching and education strategy as effective, the Union Government has given sanction to open eight new District Teaching Training Centres.
School Education Minister Smt. Archana Chitnis, Minister of State for School Education Shri Nanabhau Mohod, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Principal Secretary School Education Shri Sanjay Singh, Director Rajya Shiksha Kendra Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami and senior officers were present on the occasion.
