Katni to be developed as industrial town: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that historic work of launch of 24X7 power supply has been started in Katni district. State Government’s Rs. 25 thousand crore scheme has made this possible. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was launching Atal Jyoti Abhiyan for 24X7 power supply in Katni district today. He said that Katni will be developed as an industrial town. Industries and businesses will be promoted here. He also talked about a airstrip at Katni. Farmers Welfare Minister Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria, MP Shri Jitendra Singh Bundela, MLAs Shri Moti Kashyap and Shri Giriraj Kishore Poddar, Zila Panchayat President Sushri Kanti Choudhary and other public representatives were present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that Rs. 10 lakh assistance each will be given to families of the jawans who died in helicopter accident in Uttarakhand. Rs. 50 thousand each will be provided to families whose relatives are missing in Uttarakhand. They will be given Rs. 2 lakh each if missing relatives do not return home. On the occasion, cheque of Rs. 3 lakh 81 thousand by Katni Dal Mill Sangh and Rs. 3 lakh 25 thousand by Katni Collector Office staff were presented for relief to affected persons of Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister said that electricity bills of BPL families will be waived. The government has fixed flat rate of Rs. 1200 per horsepower per annum for farmers. They can deposit electricity bill in two installments in a year. Meter reading of farmers connections will be stopped.
The Chief Minister said that free medicines are being distributed in government hospitals under Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Free Medicine Distribution Scheme. Patients are also being examined free. Under Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, wheat and iodised salt is being provided to the poor at Rs. 1 per kg and rice at Rs. 2 per kg. Now, a poor family can purchase entire month’s ration in just one day’s wages. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has shrugged off tag of sick state and joined the list of developing states. Madhya Pradesh is number one in the country in development sector.
The Chief Minister informed that the State Government has provided funds construction of Sita Mata Mandir in Sri Lanka at the place where she had given test of fire. The State Government is also setting up Buddhist University at Sanchi. Haj House has been constructed at Bhopal for Haj pilgrims. The Chief Minister performed Kanya Poojan before launching the campaign.
