International level Infrastructure to facilitate Investors : CM
Tokyo. The Madhya Pradesh government may consider to earmark a dedicated Japanese Zone in the state and international-level infrastructure will be developed in Madhya Pradesh to facilitate investors, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh chouhan said on Monday. He was addressing an investment promotion seminar in Japan’s capital Tokyo on his his ten day foreign visit.
Chief Minister invited Japanese industrial houses and companies to invest in Madhya Pradesh. He specially invited Japanese companies to take part in bidding for proposed Bhopal and Indore Metro Rail Projects. The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh’s annual growth was 12.7 percent between 2005-10. New industrial areas are proposed in 50 thousand hectare area in the state. There are good possibilities of investment in infrastructure development under proposed Investment Corridors and Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. Madhya Pradesh produces India’s 60 percent soyabean, 40 percent gram, 25 percent pulses and 25 percent oilseeds. In all, 180 industrial areas have been developed in the state besides three inland container depots, which serve as dry ports. He said that investor-friendly policies have been adopted in the state. Industrial peace prevails in Madhya Pradesh. There are immense possibilities of eco-tourism development in the state. Law & order situation is excellent and loss of mandays in the state is minimum in the country.
The Chief Minister said that there are good possibilities in mega housing projects in big cities of Madhya Pradesh. Besides, better opportunities are also available in luxury hotels, health services, shopping, entertainment, financial & cultural centres. Mass transport in urban transport, multi-level parking, terminals and other facilities can be developed. Metro Rail Projects will be developed in Bhopal and Indore. He invited Japanese entrepreneurs to invest in all these sectors.
During high-level talks with Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Chairman Shri Hiroyuki Ishige, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan discussed a proposal to constitute a joint task force for close business ties between Madhya Pradesh government and Japan. This task force will explore possibilities of a dedicated industrial corridor of Japanese companies in Madhya Pradesh.
About 65 Japanese companies participated in the seminar held jointly by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and A&Y. At the seminar, an agreement was signed to enhance partnership between SEL Group and Murata Machinery Company Limited.
The delegation accompanying the Chief Minister had a series of high-level meetings and business discussions with officials and senior executives of Mitsubishi Corporation, Murata Machinery Limited, Marubani Corporation, Fujikin Corporation and Mitsui.
Members of the business delegation accompanying Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also participated in this seminar and discussions. Madhya Pradesh government’s senior officers also held discussions with senior officers of various Japanese corporations, institutions and business community. They apprised them about investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and invited them to participate in “Madhya Pradesh Global Investors Summit” to be held at Indore in October 2012.a
