Human race continues due to daughters: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that human race continues due to daughters. They should be respected. Shri Chouhan stated this when he reached Ashram of Dati Maharaj to seek his blessings at Ujjain on Tuesday night.

The Chief Minister said that these days girls are excelling and making a mark in every field. Disparities are increasing due to inequality in gender ratio. Daughters need to be protected. He said that Madhya Pradesh government has implemented Ladli Laxmi Yojana to turn birth of daughters into a boon. Every girl under the scheme will get Rs. one lakh 18 thousand on attaining age of 21 years. Free books, cycles and uniforms are given to girls so that they can move ahead in life. The state government has implemented Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana for marriage of poor families’ girls. Women are being given 35 percent reservation in government jobs. For establishing industries, women are given extra 5 percent exemption. Women have been given 50 percent reservation in local bodies. This is the reason that representation of women is about 56 percent in panchayats and civic bodies. He said that families not having girls should adopt them. The Chief Minister administered pledge to people to give respect and protection to girls.

The Chief Minister distributed solar fans, solar lights and schoolbags to 10 girls including Shivani, Sumitra and Manisha. He distributed sewing machines to Sunder Bai, Rao Bai, Chandrakala, Ganga Bai, Kala Bai, Shiva Bai, Mannu Bai, Shyam Bai, Bhuri Bai, Kanta Bai, Sunder Bai, Anita and Chanda Bai.

Dati Maharaj said that he has implemented Sumangala Yojana for protection and future-building of girls. About 3000 girls are studying in his residential Ashram. He announced to give Rs. 21 thousand each to all girls included in merit list of class XII exam in all development blocks of Ujjain and two-wheelers to state-level merit holder girls. He said that with the assistance of Madhya Pradesh government, he would work towards education and employment of girls for their protection and future-building. The Chief Minister sought blessings of Dati Maharaj for state’s progress and development.
