HoD office would be set up for revenue administration at state level

Bhopal: On Tuesday, in the state cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan it has been decided to set a Head of Department Office (HoD) for revenue administration at state level with a view to making revenue administration more responsive and people-oriented and to decentralize the works presently done at Mantralya level.
The name of the HoD would be Principal Revenue Commissioner. Like Principal Secretary, Rural Development Department, the Principal Secretary, Revenue would be declared the Principal Revenue Commissioner.

Dr Narottam Mishra, the Minister for Law and Legislative Affairs and Spokesman of Madhya Pradesh Government while briefing on the cabinet decisions informed that officers of State Administrative Cadre and Junior Administrative Service Cadre (tahasildar) would be posted in this office.
These include three Joint Commissioner, three Deputy Commissioners and six Assistant Commissioners. Out of 32 sanctioned class three and class four posts under Rehabilitation Commissioner Office, 21 would be re-deployed in this office.

Presently HoD office would remain in the office of the Rehabilitation Commissioner. On completion of the construction of building for the Relief Commissioner at Bhopal the HoD office would be shifted to this building along with the office of the Relief Commissioner office.

Appropriate powers have been delegated to the HoD in accordance with the fundamental principles and guidelines for work distribution between Mantralaya and HoD offices. The cabinet accorded administrative sanction on the recommendations made by the project examination committee for upgradation of 23 district Ayush hospitals under centrally sponsored scheme.

Sanction at the rate of Rs. 63 lakh 36 thousand per hospital has been received for these hospitals for the purpose of creation of contractual posts and building construction, furniture, equipments, medicines, meals etc. The cabinet accorded sanction for women hostel buildings in 38 existing polytechnic colleges under centrally sponsored scheme as per the recommendations of the project examination committee and to create contractual posts of peon cum watchman at collector rate.

Also the HoD office would deal with different works including tahasildar/naib tahasildar establishment, general control, promotion, retirement, transfer, class three and class four establishment of divisional commissioner, collector and tahasildar office, nuzul land and temporary and permanent leases issued, licenses, maintenance of premium and lease rent, recoveries, hearing and disposal of representations, permission for acquirement of private land for different major and minor projects, roads and other purposes, income from and allotment of vacant land obtained in favour of the government under Urban Land Ceiling Act etc.
