Pacheco’s Company Carried out ‘Very Suspicious’ Activities: Goa Police

Goa Police has said that the company run by former state tourism minister Fransisco Mickey Pacheco carried out ‘very suspicious’ activities, which seem to be a ‘cover for something else’, said media reports.

“There was no formal and structured functioning (of the company). Everything seemed to be working as a personal fiefdom of Pacheco,” the Crime Branch said in its application to the Panaji Bench of Bombay High Court.

“There were no meetings and decisions of the Board of Directors. The activities of the company are very suspicious and seems to be cover for something else,” it said.

Earlier, police strongly opposed the anticipatory bail plea moved by Pacheco’s close aide Lyndon Monteiro, who is wanted in the mysterious death of 28-year-old Nadia Torrado.

According to investigations by crime branch, Nadia worked in Pacheco’s company Bresources Management Pvt Ltd, reports said.

Nadia had consumed poison on May 15 and was rushed to a local hospital, was then shifted to Nasik and then to Mumbai and finally to Chennai. She died on May 30.

Pacheco is accused of abetment to suicide in the case while his aide, Monteiro, is accused of destroying evidence. The duo have been on the run since June 6.
