Government promoting Film making in the sate
BHOPAL: These days Madhya Pradesh Government is promoting the film industries in the state. To provide a hassle-free atmosphere for shootings, the State Government has decided to entrust the task to the Tourism Department to help in granting permission and dealing with other legal procedures. The Department will be responsible for installing coordination among various departments so as to pave the way for film producers in Madhya Pradesh.
Under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary a committee constituted which will take final decision on film shooting if there are differences among the departments and they are unable to overcome the problems on time as a part of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Policy-2010.
The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had invited the film producers by holding separate meetings with them during Investors’ Meet in Mumbai.
Acting in line with Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Policy-2010, the Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to work further in this direction. The Government has issued guidelines to all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and divisional commissioners, HoDs and district collectors in this regard and compliance.
Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to authorize Tourism Department that will mitigate problems of the film producers seeking legal permissions from government departments for film shooting. The Tourism Department will coordinate with departments for granting permission to the producers without any hassle.
the concerned departments will issue guidelines for providing facilities on concession rates, under the Tourism Policy-2010. If the departments fail to issue NOC, due to some technical ground as a part of Tourism Policy, then the committee headed by the chief secretary will take final decision in this regard.
The committee is comprises of chief secretary, principal secretary finance, principal secretary tourism and secretaries of concerned departments and managing director Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Corporation is member secretary. The committee will take decision according to policy.
