French Ambassador Shri Francois Richier pays courtesy visit to CM Shri Chouhan

Bhopal: The Ambassador of France to India Shri Francois Richier paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Mantralaya here today and held discussions on the bilateral trade between Madhya Pradesh and France in the context of industrial investment potential available in the state. Counsul General Shri John Ruffel was also present.

The French Ambassador expressed interest in higher education and cultural relationship. He also underlined immense potential in agriculture- farm technology, food processing and storage sectors.
The Chief Minister while welcoming them agreed that higher education and culture are two important areas to promote friendship. Student Exchange programme should be taken up. He informed the French Ambassador about richness of cultural heritage of Madhya Pradesh listing the world heritage sites of Khajuraho, Bhim Betka and Sanchi Stupa. Shri Chouhan said that he would ask the Culture Minister to outline a time-bound programme for knowledge exchange.
The State Government has resolved to make agriculture profitable for the farming community. He informed the French Ambassador that small scale industries will start coming up in a large number in rural areas with the availability of 24 hour electricity supply. All investment proposals from France are appreciable. The State Government will facilitate the proposals to materialize them promptly.
Secretary to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal, Shri S. K. Mishra were present. The French Ambassador is on Madhya Pradesh Visit from March 21 to 23, 2012.
