Enough fertilisers for farmers in State: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that there is sufficient availability of urea and other fertilisers for farmers in the Seva Sahakari Samitis and godowns of the marketing federations in all the districts of the State. Farmers can get fertilisers from the samitis or marketing federation centres as per their requirement. There is no dearth of any fertiliser.

Till July 13 in this kharif year, 10.26 lakh metric tonnes of urea has been distributed in the State, which is 3.03 lakh metric tonnes more compared to last year. Last year, 4.7 lakh metric tonnes of urea was distributed through marketing federations and 2.44 lakh metric tonnes from cooperative sector till this period. At the same time,this year 6.17 lakh metric tonne urea has been distributed to farmers from marketing federation centres and 4.09 lakh metric tonne urea from cooperative sector.

Chouhan told that fertilisers have been supplied by the State government to all districts in excess of last year. Government of India has allocated 2.06 lakh metric tonnes of urea for the month of July to the state. Government of India has also provided information about additional allocation, according to which 11,400 metric tonnes of indigenous and 31,764 metric tonnes of imported urea will be provided to the state. The demand for additional urea for the month of July has been received from 15 districts, according to which the supply is being processed.

Chouhan informed that in a meeting with the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, D.V. Sadanand Gowda in New Delhi on July 6, a request had been made for additional urea allocation for the state, which the Union Minister accepted and had agreed to increase the quota and increase the number of rake points. In this context, the central government is providing total support.

The Chief Minister said that due to Covid-19 crisis this year, rake unloading at rake points in Indore, Khandwa and Chhindwara was taking more time, but the problem was resolved promptly.

GSFC’s rake was installed on July 13 for Khandwa rake point. Similarly, supplies are also being made to Ratlam, Meghnagar and Dhar. KRIBHCO has supplied urea by road in Barwani district. The NFL rake unloaded in Indore on July 13 has also resolved problems. Another half rake is in transit which will make supplies in Badwani, Khargone and Dhar district. Supplies will be done on behalf of KRIBHCO in Burhanpur and Khargone. Arrangements have also been made for Sehore and Vidisha this week. Urea is being supplied as per requirement in other districts of the State. After inspection of the sales centres of Chhindwara, Seoni, Badwani, Chhatarpur, Narsinghpur, Betul, Hoshangabad and Khargone, action has been taken to suspend license and register FIR.
