Factual health position in rural areas should be recorded

Bhopal: A review meeting of representatives and advisors of Public Health & Family Welfare Department’s associate institutions was held at Academy of Administration here today. At the meeting, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare Shri Praveer Krishna said that factual position of rural area health units and health-related assessment in rural areas should be registered in prescribed proforma. This work should be undertaken right from village health centre, sub-health centre upto development block level.

Commissioner Public Health & Family Welfare Shri Pankaj Agrawal, Director Madhya Pradesh National Rural Health Mission Smt. M. Geeta and about 100 representatives of Health Department’s associate institutions UNICEF, UNFBA, MP Tast, World Health Organisation, NIHUP, BBC Care, JAPIGO and Ayepaas.
Shri Krishna said that presence of associate institutions’ staff should be ensured at the place of their posting. It is also responsibility of health officers and workers to ensure that all required material is available in health units. He said that health units should spend funds as per directives contained in fiscal management’s booklet FMI. He said that expenditure of budget allocated upto September 30 should be ensured. He also said that the shortcomings found during visit to districts must be rectified within 7 days. Rusted tables, broken beds should be replaced and arrangements for sanitation, medicines, food, transport and security of patients should be improved as per directives. It is the responsibility of all persons associated with concerning health units.
Expressing displeasure over attachment of departmental officers and employees at places other than their places of posting the Principal Secretary said that this practice should be completely abolished. He said that apart from withholding salary of employees found absent from their workplace or headquarters, strict punishment will also be given to them. Those putting excellent performance will be rewarded.
