Every possible effort to help farmers tide over crisis of drought

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the state government will help farmers to tide over drought crisis by extending them every possible assistance. Loans will not be recovered from them and interest on loan will also be borne by the state government. Shri Chouhan directed officers to undertake survey of crops with maximum sensitivity and alertness. Shri Chouhan addressed farmers at villages Mehgawan and Kanti in Katni district after inspecting affected crops.

The Chief Minister said that crops of farmers have been affected by deficient rainfall. They are facing crisis. The state government stands by farmers in their hour of crisis. The government will extend cooperation to farmers to tide over this crisis. Along with compensation for crop loss, benefit of crop insurance scheme will also be given to them. Government not allow farmers to lose.

The chief Minister said that loans will not be recovered from farmers. Farmers should not worry. Ration materials will be provided for one year to farmers hit by crop loss due to deficient rainfall. Every thing possible will be done for farmers. MNREGA works will be opened in affected areas. Farmers should not worry about marriage of their daughters, which would be solemnized by the state government. He said that the government is undertaking other measures also to improve farmers’ financial condition so that farmers can also earn from animal husbandry and other occupations along with agriculture. He advised farmers to grow crops which require less irrigation. For youths’ employment, cases will be prepared through banks. Farmers need not worry.

The Chief Minister interacted with people at village Mehgaon and heard their problems. He directed the collector to immediately solve problems of disabled persons. He directed to immediate prepare BPL card of disabled Manish Patel. He also directed to prepare BPL card of seriously ill Dhaniram and ensure his treatment. Directives were given to CEO of Badwara Janpad Panchayat to sanction disabled pension to youth Subhash Sharma, a resident of village Paudi.
