Iraqi woman beaten in US

EL CAJON (CALIFORNIA): A 32-year-old woman from Iraq was severely beaten in her Southern California home and she critically injured. Police said a threatening note was discovered at her house.She was found unconscious by her 17-year-old daughter on Wednesday morning in his house in El Cajon, said police Lt Steve Shakowski. She was identified as Shaima Alawadi, a mother of five. She had been beaten with a tire iron repeatedly on the head said her daughter

A note “very close to where the victim was found,” was discovered by the police. A similar note was found earlier this month by the family but did not reported to authorities, Coit said. Sura Alzaidy, a family friend told the newspaper UT San Diego that the attack apparently happened after the father took the younger children to school. Alzaidy told that Alawadi is a “respectful modest muhajiba,” means she wears the traditional hijab (a head scarf).

The family had lived in the house in San Diego County for only a few weeks, after moving from Michigan, Alzaidy said.Alzaidy also told that Alawadi’s husband had previously worked as private contractors for the US Army together in San Diego. Their duty is to serve as cultural advisers to train soldiers going to be deployed to the Middle East.
