Energy conservation week started at Chinar park

Bhopal: Prizes were given away to children for painting competition held during National Energy Conservation Week at Chinar Park here today. As many as 250 students of one dozen schools took part in the painting competition organised by Central Region Power Distribution Company.

In the senior group of the competition, Abhishek Mewad of Anand Vihar School won the first prize, Suruchi of St. Mary School second and Ankita of Sharda Vidya Mandir won the third prize. In the junior group, the first prize was won by Pranjal of Central School, second by Reet of Sharda Vidya Mandir and third by Nancy Jain, also of Sharda Vidya Mandir.

The annual running trophy for best performance was given away to Sharda Vidya Mandir School. Prof. Smt. Neelima Verma of MLB College, Dr. Alok Bhavsar of Hamidia College and retired General Manager Shri N.K. Bhogal were members of the jury.

Company’s Director (Commercial) Shri A.K. Jain and Chief General Manager (Bhopal region) Shri R.K. Mishra apprised children of importance of energy conservation and told them useful ways to conserve it. They said that children should understand essence of energy conservation and make others to understand. Energy conservation is no less importance than its generation. Motivating common people for energy conservation is like generation of energy. Energy conservation is the need of hour. Children were also urged to be vigilant towards energy conservation.

Director Shri A.K. Jain and Chief General Manager Shri R.K. Mishra distributed prizes to the winners. The competition was held by City Circle South under the guidance of Deputy General Manager City Circle Shri Zahid Aziz Khan.
