Electricity-related complaints should be redressed promptly

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed officers to redress electricity-related complaints at the earliest. He also directed to chalk out an action plan to replace burnt and dysfunctional transformers and extension of permanent pumps connections to farmers within a week.

After seeking information from CMDs of all 3 power distribution companies about power distribution arrangements, the Chief Minister directed them to improve arrangements so that people face no difficulty. Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, ACS Finance Shri A.P. Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Energy Shri Manu Shrivastava and Secretary to CM Shri Vivek Agrawal attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister told the officers that making available enough power to farmers is state government’s top priority. For this, feeders have been separated for irrigation pumps. He said that dysfunctional transformers should be replaced immediate by getting deposited only 10 percent instead of 50 percent. For permanent pump connections, only 2 months’ advance should be got deposited from farmers. Besides, a long-term plan should be chalked out to give permanent pump connections to farmers. Convergence of other schemes should also be made in it so that all farmers can obtain permanent pump connections. He also directed officers to motivate farmers to use solar pumps.

The meeting was informed that permanent pump connections are being given by getting deposited 2 months’ advance instead of 4 months. Due to it, farmers have to deposit less amount. This, year 84 thousand temporary pump connections have been given in the state. Similarly, 1546 dysfunctional transformers have been replaced by getting deposited only 10 percent.
