Budget Will Give New Heights to Development of Madhya Pradesh: Narottam Mishra

Bhopal. Minister for Public Relations, Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Narottam Mishra said that the budget presented for the financial year 2017-18 is pro poor and is for the welfare of all the sections of the society. He mentioned that budget will give new heights to the development of the state. Dr. Mishra further said that there are several unique provisions in the budget. On one hand budget mentions about the Mukhyamantri Meghavi Vidhyarthi Yojna under which tution fee of the students securing over 85 percent marks in 12th board examination will be paid by the state government. On the other tution fee in the form of interest free loan will be provided to the students securing less mark on getting admissions in national level prestigious institutes.

Dr. Mishra further mentioned that in order to fulfill the appeal ‘Per Drop More Crop’ of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, attention is being paid for more irrigation from the available water after achieving the irrigation target on minimum 33 lakh hectare agriculture land under the 12th five year plan. Also water distribution will be ensured through Micro Irrigation. A provision of Rs. 9 thousand 850 crore has been made in the capital head of irrigation project for the next financial year which is Rs. 1,287 crore more than the last financial year. Dr. Mishra said that a budget provision of around Rs. 100 crore meant for various works related to ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ Seva Yatra started by the Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan holds importance. Moreover, approval for 7th pay scale to the government employees of the state government is also important.

Furthermore, Dr. Mishra stated that necessary amount has been provided for horticulture, animal husbandry and agriculture development in the budget. A provision of Rs. One thousand 750 crore under the Nirmal Bharat Mission reflects the priority of the state government. Moreover, provision of sufficient amount for Women Empowerment, Rural Development, Social Justice and Good Governance has been made in the budget. There is a budget provision for 7 cities under the two phases of urban infrastructure development. State government seems committed for works related to industries and employment, tourism, culture and housing for all. Also significant amount will be spent for the welfare of SC, ST including poor of general category and other backward class. Moreover, 61 percent more amount will be provided to the budget of medical education department. An important decision has been taken towards utilization of available surgery facilities for citizens in health sector. Religious places (Teerth) of state and the country have been added under the Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna.

Minister Dr. Mishra said that sufficient provision for amount has been made for betterment of basic facilities like electricity, water and roads in the budget. He mentioned that new budget has brought happiness for the people of state, which is moving ahead rapidly on the path of development. An important resolution to ensure an ideal development is reflecting from the budget by increase in revenue and resources of the state.
