Need to overcome fear factor to beat Covid-19: CM
With spiraling numbers of coronavirus cases, a fear factor has enveloped both patients and masses and there is a need to eliminate it, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Sunday, while asking Collectors to strictly enforce steps to contain the pandemic.
Patients admitted in hospitals require motivational sessions to boost their morale, Baghel told a virtual review meeting on Covid-19 with cabinet Ministers, District Collectors, District Chief Medical Officers and Superintendents of Police from his official residence.
The Chief Minister directed doctors to make regular routine rounds without fail to follow up the status of patients in wards. Telemedicine or video/WhatsApp calling mode can be adopted for necessary advice.
He said Chhattisgarh has half won the fight as it is the peak period of the epidemic. The war has to be won without getting tired. The joint efforts of the Health and all other departments will give results soon.
Baghel told Collectors to ensure that Covid-19 patients get proper treatment in the districts. The services of private hospitals can be taken. Their rates for treatment have been fixed. The best option is to keep the asymptomatic and slightly symptomatic patients in home isolation.
He said if a family has more than two patients, then all other family members can be provided prophylactic drug kit. They should be guided through telemedicine and provided details of intake of medicines.
The Chief Minister said Covid-19 positive patients having ailments like heart, kidney, liver, high blood pressure, high sugar and other issues be admitted in hospital for better care.
He directed the Collectors to sternly implement steps to contain the virus. The inflow of patients from other districts to Raipur should be stopped. Only critical patients should be referred to major hospitals.
Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey and other cabinet Ministers gave suggestions. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Renu G. Pillay gave a briefing on the status of Covid-19 in the state.
