District development plans to be chalked out through discussions with people: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that districts’ development plans will be chalked out through discussions with people. He directed that through interaction with farmers knowing ground realities, priorities for development should be fixed and schemes be sent from district level. The schemes will be implemented in consultation with experts.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing an “Aao Banayen Apna Madhya Pradesh” convention at Mandla today. On the occasion, he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for various development works costing over Rs. 59 crore 15 lakh. He also distributed benefits worth Rs. 35 crore to 5,672 beneficiaries under various schemes.

The Chief Minister said that all Madhya Pradesh can be developed as a golden state only when all sections of society discharge their responsibilities earnestly. He appealed for cooperation of all in this task. He informed that Rs. 400 crore irrigation schemes have been chalked out to make agriculture profitable. Power generation capacity has been increased in the state but it has to be increased further. Efforts will be made to increase income of tribal farmers by setting up processing units for Kodu-Kutki. Forest dwellers are being extended benefit by procuring forest produce at support price by Vanopaj Sangh. The Chief Minister said that people forcibly encroaching upon government land will be removed but urban poor dwelling on government land for long will be given pattas. Scholarship will also be given to students belonging to general category. He said that free laptops will be given to students passing class XII exam with 85 percent or above marks. He said that cancer treatment medicines will be provided free in government hospitals.

Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Chief Minister has launched a number of welfare schemes for all sections of society. Citizens will have to walk shoulder to shoulder with him to make Madhya Pradesh a pioneer state.

At the outset, the collector informed that about 1700 kilometer long pucca roads have been constructed in the district during last 10 years and outstanding increase in power sector has also been registered. So far, 1195 senior citizens of the district have been sent on pilgrimage under Mukhyamantri Tirth-Darshan Yojana.

MP Shri Narendra Tomar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and in-charge of the district Shri Sharad Jain, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Faggan Singh Kulaste, Zila Panchayat CEO Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, district’s MLAs and other public representatives were present on the occasion.
