Diggy Asks Funds for Construction of Roads in Villages

In a letter to Union Rural Development Minister C P Joshi, Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has demanded sanction of funds for the construction of roads in nearly 150 villages of Rajgarh consitituency in the state.

Singh who belongs to Rajgarh district demanded funds for roads of villages of the district under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna’.

According to an official release quoting his letter, the proposal for construction of 86 roads worth Rs 123.45 crore is pending with the Ministry for its approval.

In addition, the AICC general secretary also requested the Minister to sanction funds for the development of roads in Guna and Shajapur districts of the state.

He has also written a letter to the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Kamal Nath to approve schemes for converting Gwalior-Dewas National Highway into four lane and high level bridges in the area, the release said.

ISingh also asked to convert NH-12 passing through the area into two-lanes.
