Development in MP moving slowly: Kamal Nath

MANDLA: Union Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath and Union Minister for Tribal Welfare (also the newly appointed Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President), Kantilal Bhuria today laid the foundation stone for the gauge conversion work of Chhindwara-Nainpur-Mandla narrow guage line.

The 182-km long broad gauge line connecting Mandla Fort to Chhindwara via Nainpur and Seoni will be laid at an estimated cost of Rs 806 crore.

He said, the guage conversion of the railway line would “open the doors of development” in the region. Bhuria said the guage conversion would create a large number of employment opportunities too.

During the function Kamal Nath alleged that despite the Centre providing lot of funds under various schemes, development in Madhya Pradesh was very slow.

He also said the state had been unable to implement the central law, and out of the total 4.50 lakh applicants so far, only 90,000 had received the land ownership papers.
