Curfew Relaxed in Maksi

Bhopal  —  Curfew was relaxed in the violence hit Maksi town of Shajapur district between 0900 and 1700 hours on Monday, the curtail on movement was imposed after a minor incident sparked communal tensions and resulted in the death of a youth on Friday.

A heavy police posse stood guard as residents stepped out of their homes to buy essential goods during the relaxation.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee president Suresh Pachouri visited the town and met members of the deceased’s family. The former Union Minister urged citizens to exercise restraint and maintain communal amity.
