CS directs to provide fear-free atmosphere for polling

Bhopal: Fear-free atmosphere should be provided to voters to cast their ballots for Vidhan Sabha elections in the state on November 25. Proper arrangements should be made for this. This was directed by Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa while chairing an election preparation review meeting at Shahdol today.

The Chief Secretary said that apart from security, proper arrangements for free, fair and peaceful polling should be made at polling booths in remote areas.
It was informed at the meeting that special security arrangements have been made at critical polling booths and polling booths in Naxal-affected areas. Communication arrangements are being made through wireless at the polling booths which do not have mobile connectivity. For this, static and mobile wireless sets will be installed. The collector informed that a number of teams have been constituted in the district to ensure effective enforcement of model code of conduct.
Awareness vehicle flagged off: The Chief Secretary also flagged off a voter awareness vehicle from the premises of collectorate. It is noteworthy that as per directives of Election Commission of India, this vehicle will make voters aware for voting to be held on November 25 at various rural haat-bazaars and other places.
DGP Shri Nandan Dube, Principal Secretary Home Shri R.K. Swai, Additional DGP Shri Sarabjeet Singh, IG Shahdol Range Shri Ved Prakash Sharma, collector, SP and other officers attended the meeting.
