Congress workers injured in Congress protest against irregularity in Patwari examination , wanted to gherao CM house; The MLA spoke – the government facilitated lathi charge

Congress protest in Bhopal regarding the irregularities in Patwari examination. Congress leaders have come out to lay siege to the CM House. The workers first gathered at the Roshanpura intersection. From here they proceeded raising slogans against the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Staff Selection Board. The security of the CM House has been increased by the police. The activists have been pushed back using water cannons.

The Congress workers were stopped by the police at the Banganga intersection while they were going to surround CM house demanding the cancellation of the examination on the allegation of malpractice in the Patwari recruitment examination. When the workers broke the barricade and tried to move forward, the police fired water cannons and chased them away.

 

PC Sharma, Congress MLA from Bhopal’s South-West Legislative Assembly, said, ‘We are demanding a CBI investigation. The government is not ready to listen to our talk. Lathicharge has been done by sending the police. The police resorted to baton charges and water cannons. Congress President (Bhopal City) Monu Saxena is seriously injured. Mahak Rana is also badly injured. 25 to 50 workers have been injured.’

 

Sharma said, ‘We were going peacefully. I wanted to give a memo. This is torture. Democracy is murder. Congress is not afraid. We will continue to fight and demand continuous investigation.’

On the MLA’s allegations, Additional DCP Rajesh Singh Bhadauria said permission was not taken for the demonstration. Police did not lathi charge. All were injured after the barricade collapsed. Some policemen were also injured. All have been referred for treatment.

Mahak Rana, a Congress woman activist, sustained serious head injuries during the demonstration, 25 to 50 workers were injured. Some policemen were also injured.
