Congress demanded CM’s resignation

BHOPAL: The state Congress on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, hours after the Supreme Court quashed the decision of the BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh to allot land to a trust named after late party leader Kushabhau Thakre.

PCC spokesman K K Mishra said, “Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his Ministers should resign immediately as the Supreme Court has quashed the BJP government”s decision to allot land at throwaway price to the trust named after the late party leader.”

A criminal case should be registered against the trustees, including senior BJP leaders L K Advani, M Venkaiah Naidu, Murli Manohar Joshi, former Chief Minister Kailash Joshi, and bureaucrats linked to the land allotment, he added.

Around 400 acres of land had been allotted to the Sangh Parivar-linked groups in Madhya Pradesh in the last seven years and this should be scrapped, he claimed.

Whereas, the state government’s spokesman and Animal Husbandry Minister Ajay Vishnoi, said the state government will comment only after going through the judgement.
