Cong MLA Demands CBI Probe in Jatav Murder Case

Congress MLA from Bhind Assembly constituency Govind Singh has demanded that a CBI probe should be ordered into investigate the murder of party leader Makhanlal Jatav during electioneering for the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.

Govind Singh, in a letter to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, asked him to order a CBI inquiry into the killing of Jatav, who was an MLA from Gohad Assembly seat in Bhind district.

Singh claimed that Jatav had no hostility with anybody but his political rivals were green with envy with him because of rising popularity and this resulted into Jatav being murdered.

He complained that even after two months of the killing, police has been unable to register cases against culprits, which, he went on to mention, is an indication of political pressure on the police and administration.

Singh appealed to the Chief Minister to arrest the culprits or recommend a CBI inquiry into the matter.
