CM to hold direct dialogue with students of virtual classrooms

Bhopal: During “Digital India Week” in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hold direct dialogue with students of virtual classrooms through video-conferencing. It would be held on July 3 from 10.30 am. The Chief Minister will hold discussions on Digital India, E-Governance, Virtual Classes and other subjects. The programme will be broadcast simultaneously in about 400 virtual classes in the state.
This information was given at a video-conferencing held at Mantralaya today to review preparations for Digital India Week. Secretary to CM, Science & Technology Shri Hari Ranjan Rao gave directives regarding objects and various programmes to be held during the week. Shri Rao said that awareness programmes highlighting Digital India should be held during the week. Quiz, essay and debate competitions should be held in educational institutions. Shri Rao directed to attach priority to Virtual Classroom Project and its smooth conduct. Shri Rao also informed about maximum use of SWAN Project.

E-Shakti Abhiyan

CEO of MAP-IT Shri M. Selvendran informed in his presentation that third phase of E-Shakti Abhiyan will be launched during the week. A target has been set to make about one crore women digitally aware and literate. He informed about the week-long programmes. He also gave replies to answers regarding conduct of virtual classrooms.

Digital India Week will be held in Madhya Pradesh with various programmes from July 2 to 7. At the programmes, people will be apprised of significant points and objectives of Digital India. Participation of public representatives, concerning officers and students will be ensured.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch the week in New Delhi on July 1. State’s Science & Technology Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh and Secretary Shri Hari Ranjan Rao will participate in it. In the state, a workshop will also be held on Digital India at Bhopal, which would be addressed by Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh. Commissioner Higher Education Shri Sachin Sinha and officers of School Education, Science & Technology departments and NIC were present during video-conferencing.

Digital India programme

Digital India is an ambitious programme aiming at taking digital connectivity to newer heights. It would mainly serve as a bridge between various programmes. These include digital infrastructure, delivery of services on demand and digital empowerment of people. It also includes National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN).
