CM: Take strict action against those involved in crime against women

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that in the last few months, disturbing incidents have occurred in the State; all related to daughters. Chouhan said: “I have been strict on injustice to daughters and women.” He said that strict action should be taken against those who are indulged in excesses and inhuman behaviour.

Even if family members do such acts, they should not be spared. Chouhan was reviewing law and order in Mantralaya. Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretary Home Rajesh Rajora, Director General of Police Vivek Johri were present in the meeting. All the Divisional Commissioners, IGs, Collectors and Superintendents of Police virtually attended the meeting.

Chouhan said action should be taken in record time in the incidents happening with women and daughters.

The case should be tried in fast track court and there should be no delay in punishment to the guilty. Examples of quick decision and harshest punishment should be set for fear among the people having a mentality to commit excesses. The CM said vigilance and alertness is necessary regarding social media. The Collectors and the Superintendents of Police should keep a watch on the negative activities related to the districts continuously ongoing on social media.

Such unwanted, misleading and illegal activities should be dealt with immediate effect and the facts should be made known to the general public in time. Action should also be taken against those who conduct unethical activities through social media. Awareness campaign should be run to stop cyber crime.

In respect of viral videos, immediate response is essential. Chouhan said that if false propaganda is being circulated on social media on the basis of wrong facts, then senior officers should refute it from their official account and tell the correct facts to the public. Chouhan said illegal mining will not be tolerated. If mining activities are banned then how is excavation possible. Mineral-Forest-Revenue and Police Departments should work in coordination to control illegal mining.
