CM Promises Tough Action against Khandwa Culprit

Bhopal  —  A day after three people, including an ATS constable, were shot dead by a suspected SIMI activist in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said Sunday that all efforts were on to ensure the early arrest of the culprit.

Speaking to reporters in Khandwa, Chouhan said his government “will not tolerate this” and added that “steps will be taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.”

Chouhan announced a financial help of Rs10 lakh to the family members of slain ATS constable Sitaram Batham and Rs five lakh each to the other two deceased.

He said that a family member each of the deceased would be given an employment.

Earlier, Chouhan paid final respect to the mortal remains of the deceased and took part in their last rites.
