CM participates in mass Nikah programme
Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan participated in mass Nikah programme held by Bhopal Municipal Corporation here last night. Shri Chouhan went straight to programme venue after arriving at state hangar from New Delhi. Nikahs of 40 couples were solemnised on the occasion.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana is a unique scheme. Assistances under the scheme has been increased to Rs. 25 thousand per couple from Rs. 15 thousand. Of this, Rs. 19 thousand will be spent on material for wedding and holding of the event and Rs. 6 thousand will be deposited in bridegroom’s fixed deposited. This amount, which will go up to Rs. 10,000 with interest will be given to couple when their first child goes to school since better education is also necessary.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Bhopal Haj House is coming up at a rapid pace. Shri Chouhan said that he is making efforts to improve people’s lives and serving all without any discrimination. No one is away from his heart. Blessing newly wed couples, he wished them happy married life.
