Survey for correcting voters’ lists

BHOPAL: A door to door campaign will be conducted by the government from April 15 to May 31 for the correction of voter list.

The notices have been issued to district collectors for the same. The Booth Level Officers (BLOs) has been given the responsibility to conduct the survey.

They will visit door to door during the survey and ask some specific questions from each family.

The queries involve total number of family members, number of males and females of 18 or more years of age, number of family members already included in voters’ list, left out names, their age etc. They also motivate the left outs to fill the form-6.

Those voters who have completed 18 years of age on January 4, 2012 will be considered for the filling of the form.

The forms for those who have either died or shifted their residence will also be filled. The cooperation of Anganwadi workers and assistants, ASHA workers, Gram Panchayat secretaries, patwaris, gram patels & kotwars and Rural Agriculture Extension Officers will also be taken for this door-to-door survey.

The government also provides a BLO Board which will be installed at the residence of every BLO along with BLO register and kit.

The Copies of final list published on January 5, 2012, Form-6 and other necessary stationery will also be made available to them.
