CM dedicates works for drinking water, roads and bridges costing over Rs. 363 core at Ujjain

Bhopal : Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inspected constructions made for Simhastha-2016 at Ujjain today. He dedicated works for drinking water, roads and bridges costing Rs. 363 crore 49 lakh.

The Chief Minister dedicated 4 bridges and 2 roads at Chakratirth, culvert connecting Ramghat with Dutt Akhada, renovation and central lighting on 4-lane Mangalnath road.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a bridge costing Rs. 5.57 crore over Peeliya Khal nullah from Mangalnath to Kamed Road. It will facilitate devotees from Agar and Maksi. He also dedicated newly constructed bridge over Kshipra river costing Rs. 9.81 crore between Okhleshwar Ghat to Vikrant Bhairav Mandir, bridge parallel to Kshipra Setu costing Rs. 8.51 crore, additional bridge next to Chakrtirth and newly constructed bridge over Kshipra between Rinmukteshwar and Ranjit Hanuman Road. The Chief Minister inaugurated 4-lane road from Ramghat to Mullapura costing Rs. 4.95 crore, 4-lane CC road with central lighting costing Rs. 19.26 crore from Makodiya Aam Khak Chowk to Mangalnath and culvert from renovated Ramghat to Dutt Akhada.

Before dedication of works, the Chief Minister planted a sapling of Triveni at Sunahari Ghat on the banks of Kshipra. He also inspected condition of Kshipra from riverbank.

 

12 works for drinking water

The Chief Minister dedicated 12 works for drinking water costing Rs. 41.89 crore at Gaughat water treatment plant. With this, water supply capacity to Ujjain city has doubled. From it, 161 MLD water will be supplied daily during Simhastha. It is noteworthy that the 500 and 150 mm diameter D.I. pipelines have been laid from Gaughat water treatment plant to Triveni costing Rs. 11 crore. Even after Simhastha, water from Narmada-Kshipra Link Project will be used due to which Ujjain city will not face drinking water problem in future.

The Chief Minister inaugurated Varunalaya water treatment plant and related works costing Rs. 6 crore 17 lakh, overhead tank at Gudari to be filled through Gaughat water treatment plant, laying of 500 mm diameter pipeline costing Rs. one core 74 lakh and renovation and upgradation of water treatment plants and pumping stations costing Rs. 4 crore. He also dedicated 8 MLD capacity Jalpeshwar water treatment plant costing Rs. 5 crore 40 lakh, overhead tank at Garh Kalika costing Rs. 74 lakh 90 thousand laying of pipeline from Varunalaya water treatment plant to Chintaman Ganesh and 150-kiloliture 15 metre high overhead tank costing Rs. one crore 57 lakh and upgradation of existing water treatment plant at Undasa costing Rs. one crore 75 lakh.

The Chief Minister also dedicated 500 kiloliter capacity overhead tank and laying of 300 mm diameter pipeline in Mangalnath area costing Rs. one crore 97 lakh, 250 kilolitre overhead tank and laying of 2500 mm diameter pipeline costing Rs. 81 lakh in Ujadkhera Badnagar Mela area, laying of 500 and 150 mm diameter D.I. pipelines from Gaughat water treatment plant to Triveni costing Rs. 11 crore, construction of 12 metre diameter and 20.50 metre deep intake well on Gambhir river costing Rs. 4 crore 36 lakh, new sumpwell of 885 kilolitre capacity, pump house and sub-station near Bhairavgarh overhead tank in Simhastha Mela area. After dedication, the Chief Minister also inspected the water treatment plant.

 

Jay Singh Pura alternative road dedicated

The Chief Minister dedicated Jay Singh Pura alternative road costing Rs. 39 crore 18 lakh on Chintaman Ganesh road. He also inspected work of bridge measuring 1234.45 metres and 12 metre wide. In-charge Minister Shri Bhupendra Singh, MP Dr. Chintaman Malviya, Simhastha Central Committee’s Chairman Makhan Singh, MLAs Dr. Mohan Yadav and Shri Anil Firojia were present on the occasion.
