CM bids adieu to Martyr Champalal killed in Naxal attack

Bhopal: The last rites of CRPF Jawan Champalal who lost life in Naxalite attack in Jharkhand, were performed with state honour at village Ghatla in Ratlam district today. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan laid a wreath on the body of Martyr Champalal and also shouldered his funeral pyre during the funeral procession.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the State Government stands by the bereaved family and is committed to look after them. The Chief Minister announced to give Rs. 15 lakh assistance to the family of Martyr Champalal and allotment of a residential plot to his wife Smt. Durga and son Harsh at Ratlam. Shri Chouhan also announced to provide government job to Martyr’s wife if she wishes so. The Chief Minister announced construction of a pucca road upto the Samadhi Sthal in Martyr Champalal’s native village Ghatla and installation of his statue in the village at a site selected by the villagers. He also reiterated commitment on behalf of the State Government for looking after Martyr’s son and education.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan expressed profound grief over the death of Shri Champalal. But at the same time, he expressed a sense of pride that Shri Champalal laid down his life for the country’s security. Entire country is feeling proud over his sacrifice, he added.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan visited residence of Martyr Champalal, consoled his wife Durga and other members of the bereaved family and prayed Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul.
Minister of State for Urban Administration & Development Shri Manohar Untwal, Rajya Sabha member Shri Thawarchand Geholot, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Anita Rajmal Jain, Mayor Shri Shailendra Daga, MLA Ratlam Rural Smt. Laxmidevi Kharadi, MLA Ratlam City Shri Paras Saklecha, other public representatives, officers and a large number of citizens were present on the occasion.
