Chalk out scheme for affordable houses for labourers coming to cities: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that micro long-term planning for affordable houses should be done keeping in view number of labourers coming to cities. Shri Chouhan was reviewing 100-day action plan of Urban Administration & Development Department here today. The meeting was informed that a detailed project report will be prepared for Integrated Mass Rapid Transit System/Metro Rail Project in Bhopal and Indore. Urban Administration & Development Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya and Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister said that integrated development schemes should be chalked out for sub-urban areas including residential and commercial use and transport system. He laid stress on systemising set-up of urban bodies. He said that both short-term and long-term works should be undertaken in urban bodies. Works like sanitation, release of logged water etc. should be done under short-term works. Shri Chouhan directed that fire brigade and disaster management arrangements should be strengthened in all urban areas.

Informing about departmental schemes, Minister Shri Vijayvargiya said that necessary improvements will be made in Indore and Bhopal BRTS after inviting suggestions. Policy of multi-level parking in big cities will be chalked out. Policy will also be framed for urban lease renewal. Five thousand residential units will be constructed for economically backward and deprived sections. Over 10 thousand individual toilets will be constructed in entire urban area of the state through Mukhyamantri Shahri Swachhta Mission. Door-to-door waste collection will be started in minimum 2 wards of all municipal corporations. Automatic Building Plan Approval System will be implemented in 5 major cities of the state. Works will be started in 15 cities under Mukhyamantri Shahri Pey-jal Yojana. Works will be started in 132 towns under Mukhyamantri Shahri Adhosanrachna Yojana and 20 cities under UIDSSMT. Skill augmentation of 35 thousand beneficiaries will be done under urban bodies.

Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Principal Secretary Urban Administration and Development Shri S.N. Mishra and other officers were present on the occasion.
