Case Registered against Pachouri for Violating Code of Conduct

For allegedly violating Election Code of Conduct, a case has been lodged against Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief Suresh Pachouri at Kotwali.

According to official sources, Brajgopal Loya, media in-charge of Rampal Singh, BJP’s candidate from Hoshangabad constituency, and Anil Soni, Samajwadi Party agent, complained to the Election Commission that Pachouri infringed model code of conduct for election during his visit to the region on April 21 by speaking to reporters at Krishi Upaj Mandi.

Acting on the complaint, the District Returning Officer (DRO) Nishant Barbade had issued an instruction for holding an enquiry into the matter. Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Sapna Shivhare conducted the enquiry.

After receiving the probe report, the DRO directed to register a case against Pachouri, sources added.
