Cabinet approved 8 irrigation project in Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: A cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today accorded administrative/revised sanction for 8 irrigation projects. Designed irrigation capacity of these projects costing Rs. 6463 crore 99 lakh is 4 lakh16 thousand 783 hectare.
Sanction of Rs. 70.61 crore has been accorded to Surajpura medium irrigation project in Sagar district. Its designed capacity is 4205 hectare. Administrative sanction of Rs. 120.02 crore has been accorded to Upper Tilwara canal project in Seoni district with designed capacity to irrigate 45 thousand 256 hectare.
Administrative sanction of Rs. 53.41 crore has been given to Rehti medium irrigation project in Vidisha district with designed capacity of 2905 hectare. Revised sanction of Rs. 296.64 crore has been accorded to Sagad medium irrigation project with designed capacity of 17 thousand 61 hectare and revised administrative sanction of Rs. 291.95 crore to Sanjay Sagar (Bah) medium irrigation project in Vidisha district. Its designed capacity is 17 thousand 807 hectare. Revised administrative sanction of Rs. 486.96 crore has been accorded to Gulab Sagar (Mahan) Project in Sidhi district with designed capacity of 20 thousand 175 hectare. Similarly, sanction of Rs. 1620.02 crore and revised administrative sanction of Rs. 3524.38 crore has been accorded to Bansagar multipurpose project main works (Unit-1) and canal works (Unit-2), respectively. Each unit is designed to irrigate 1 lakh 54 thousand 687 hectare in Madhya Pradesh.
15 new colleges
The cabinet sanctioned establishment of 15 new colleges in different areas of the state and introduction of new faculties/courses/post-graduate classes in 16 existing colleges. The new colleges include Shahgarh (Sagar), Tendukhera (Narsinghpur), Satwas (Dewas), Semariya (Rewa), Mangawan (Rewa) Batiyagarh (Damoh), Kusmi (Sidhi), Barela (Jabalpur), Akoda (Bhind), Chandala (Chhatarpur), Majhgawan (Satna), Uchehra (Satna), Gunnaur (Panna) and Ladkui (Sehore). Besides, approval has also been given to recognise aided private Bapu College, Naugaon (Chhatarpur).
Similarly, the colleges where new faculties/courses/post-graduate classes are to be introduced are situated at Banda, Panagar, Patan, Majhauli, Devsar, Pathriya, Bhawara, Alirajpur, Sanwer, Rau, Susner, Lahar, Nalkhera, Sironj, Ratlam and Singoli. For this, 474 new posts have also been sanctioned
Arrears
The cabinet decided to pay arrears of UGC’s sixth pay scale to teachers/officers of colleges/universities. The arrears are for the period between January 1, 2006 and March 31, 2010. Total arrears of the period from January 1, 2006 to March 31, 2010 will be paid in 3 six monthly instalments after deduction of amount paid as interim relief. After payment of first installment by the State Government and universities, the second installment will be paid after receipt of reimbursement from the Union Government. Reimbursement of 80 percent amount to universities will be paid through the State Government after receipt of funds from the Union Government.
Public Service Agency
The cabinet decided to constitute Madhya Pradesh Public Service Agency for more effective implementation of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act. The agency will have two-tier committees. The Chief Minister will be Chairman and Public Service Management Minster Vice-Chairman of the General Council. Its members will include Secretary and Principal Secretary Public Service Management. Similarly, the Executive Committee will be headed by the Principal Secretary while Executive Director Madhya Pradesh Public Service Agency will be its member-secretary.
Child marriage
The cabinet decided to abolish the provision of Madhya Pradesh Civil Service Rules under which disqualifies a candidate from government service or appointment who has married before the minimum age prescribed for marriage. The provision was made in year 200
