Boat Club Bhopal to emerge on national tourism map

Bhopal : Efforts are underway to project Boat Club on the banks of the Upper Lake in Bhopal on the national tourism map. Several arrangements are being made to make the Boat Club more attractive and provide more tourist facilities over there. This was said by Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Babulal Gaur at the Boat Club on Wednesday evening. Bhopal Divisional Railway Manager Shri Ghanshyam Singh, Bhopal Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Rajneesh Shrivastava and Additional Commissioner Shri G.P. Mali were also present on the occasion.

Minister Shri Gaur inspected an old railway steam engine installed at the Boat Club by the Railway Department and directed officers to make necessary arrangements. He instructed that security arrangements for this historic steam engine should be made by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. Shri Gaur informed that attractive lights, pathway and lawn will be developed and Yacht Club will be renovated with the assistance of the Central and State governments. He also directed to make necessary arrangements for inauguration of the steam engine.

DRM Shri Ghanshyam Singh informed that Railway Department will undertake maintenance of the old steam railway engine. Process of installing signal at the engine site has been completed. Arrangement of light in the signal will be made soon. Arrangements will also be made that the smoke comes out of steam engine and whistle is blown.

While talking to Minister Shri Gaur at the Boat Club, tourists Shri Prashant Sonar from Maharashtra and Shri Santosh Kumar Singh and Kumari Shikha Singh from Chhattisgarh informed that Bhopal city and its Upper Lake are rich in natural beauty. Arrangement of cruise, installation of Shivalik naval ship’s model and old railway steam engine are attracting tourists most. Efforts being made by the State Government for development of the Boat Club are laudable.
