Bhopal: CM doesn’t want faltering before PM, collectors get goosebumps

Bhopal: The presentation of development plan for eight backward districts including Singrauli, Damoh, Badwani, Vidisha, Chatarpur, Guna, Rajgarh and Khandwa of the state before Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Jabalpur visit on Tuesday has turned out to be a big cause of tension for the state government, especially for the collectors.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with chief secretary BP Singh and other officials concerned on Monday reviewed the presentation. Chouhan saw the presentations for six districts and asked the chief secretary to check the rest two presentations for the other two districts.

Following the review, Chouhan asked collectors of the respective districts in clear terms to ensure all goes well during the PM’s visit. He also reprimanded the collectors after finding some errors in their presentations and asked them to rectify and get it reviewed by the principal secretary.

According to sources, the collectors in their action plans included initiatives to fix malnutrition, education and health in their respective areas. Chouhan however asked them to add the works being done in the districts by the state government along with them. As per the schedule, Modi would discuss the action plans with the collectors and may even ask questions to them during interaction. The officers fear that if any collector fails to answer before Modi than it would be highly problematic.
