Baghel to transfer Rs 1,500 cr to 19L farmers on Aug 20

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel will transfer Rs 1,500 crores into the bank accounts of 19 lakh farmers on August 20 as the second installment under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana.

This will be done on the birth anniversary of the late Rajiv Gandhi at a programme also be attended by Cabinet Ministers.

The Chief Minister will also transfer Rs 232.81 crores into the bank accounts of tendupatta collectors as bonus for 2018. Money will also be paid into the bank accounts of sellers of cow dung procured in the second fortnight of last month.

Under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana of Chhattisgarh, 19 lakh farmers are being provided grant aid of Rs 5,750 crores.

The first installment of Rs 1,500 crores was transferred into the accounts of farmers on May 21, the day Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991.

The Government is procuring dung at Rs 2/kg under the Godhan Nyay Yojana to be turned into eco-friendly vermi compost.

Payment to those who sold dung between August 2 and 15 will be made.

Bonus worth Rs 232.81 crores will go to the bank accounts of 11,46,626 tendupatta collectors of 728 societies for tendupatta collection done in 2018 in 114 development blocks.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2018 season, a total 14.85 lakh standard sacks of tendupatta was collected by 880 primary forest societies of the state. And the wage rate in 2018 was Rs 2,500 per standard sack of tendupatta collected.

In 2018, Rs 371.15 crores were distributed as wages to 11,98,673 tendupatta collectors.
