Accounts of all families opened in Dhar and Shahdol districts also
Bhopal: The work of opening bank accounts of all families under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana has been completed in Dhar and Shahdol districts also. With this, bank accounts of all families have been opened in 7 districts of the state. Earlier, accounts of all families have been opened in Ujjain, Khandwa, Indore, Dewas and Datia districts.
Through a drive, one lakh 77 thousand 238 bank accounts were opened in Dhar district. Earlier in the district, 2 lakh 52 thousand 599 out of 4 lakh 29 thousand 837 families already had bank accounts. Under the scheme, RuPay Cards have also been provided to 66 thousand 522 families.
In Shahdol district, one lakh 69 thousand 824 out of total 2 lakh 78 thousand 882 families had already bank accounts. During the drive, bank accounts of remaining one lakh 9 thousand 38 families were opened.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has congratulated Dhar Collector Smt. Jaishree Kiyawat and Shahdol Collector Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava. He has also praised Dhar Lead Bank Manager Shri R. K. Jain, Shahdol Lead Bank Manager Shri P.K. Das and officers and employees engaged in this work.
