38 nominations for Mayor, 102 Chairperson and 1593 for Corporator filed
Bhopal: As many as 38 nominations for the election of Mayor, 102 Chairperson and 1593 Corporator have been filed for urban body elections to be held on August 12. Elections will be held in 11 urban bodies.
Secretary State Election Commission Shri G.P. Shrivastava has informed that for Mayor’s post 24 nominations have been filed for Ujjain municipal corporation and 14 for Morena. For Chairperson’s post, 12 nominations have been filed for Vidisha Nagar Palika Parishad, 8 Harda and 24 for Sarangpur.
Meanwhile, 12 nominations have been filed for Dhuwara Nagar Parishad, 10 Lanji, 10 Bhainsdehi, 6 Suwasara, 7 Chakghat and 13 for Kotar.
July 31 is last date for withdrawing nominations. Polling will be held from 7 am to 5 pm on August 12. Counting and announcement of results will be made from 9 am on August 16.
