24X7 power supply in Ujjain from today

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch 24X7 power supply in Ujjain district on May 11. With this, Ujjain will become 18th district to have this facility. The Abhiyan will be launched in 17th district Rajgarh and 18th district Ujjain on May 11. Earlier, this facility has been made available in Jabalpur, Mandla, Shahdol, Anuppur, Umaria, Burhanpur, Ratlam, Dhar, Bhopal,Balaghat, Alirajpur, Sheopur, Panna, Mandsaur, Rewa and Hoshangabad districts.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan will launch Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Ujjain district on May 11 at 2 pm at Ghattiya in Ujjain district. Commerce, Industries and Employment Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Protection Minister Shri Paras Chandra Jain, Energy Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Rajya Sabha member Shri Thawarchand Gehlot, MP Shri Premchand Guddu, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Smt. Vishnu Hakam Singh Aanjana and Mayor Shri Rameshwar Akhand will be special guests at the function. MLAs Shri Dilip Singh Gujar, Shri Rodmal Rathore, Shri Shiv Narayan Jagirdar, Dr. Kalpana Parulekar, Shri Ramlal Malviya, Shri Shantilal Dhabai, Madhya Pradesh State Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Shri Babulal Jain, Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh Clay Art Board Chairman Shri Ashok Prajapat, Madhya Pradesh Jan-Abhiyan Parishad Vice-Chairman Shri Pradeep Pandey, Madhya Pradesh State Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Development Corporation Chairman Shri Kishan Bhatol, Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee Chairman Dr. Sanwar Patel, Simhastha Authority Chairman Shri Diwakar Natu, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Shri Lal Singh Ranawat and Ujjain Development Authority Chairman Shri Kishore Khandelwal will also be present on the occasion. A consumer and panchayat convention will also be organised on the occasion
Shape of schemes under Atal Jyoti Abhiyan: A sum of Rs. 148.3 crore has been spent on implementation of Atal Jyoti Abhiyan in Ujjain district. Under it, total 380 feeders have been separated. It will benefit 1096 villages. Major infrastructure works include setting up of 6 new 33/11 KV power sub-stations. Apart from capacity augmentation of 21 power transformers, 20 new transformers have also been installed. Under the 108.85 kilometer long 33 KV lines and 2810 km long 11 KV lines and 2243 km long aerial bunches L.T. Line have also been laid. As many as 3072 distribution 25 MW capacity transformers have been installed. This has led to increase in number of domestic consumers by 15 thousand 263 and 20 thousand 210 domestic unmetered additional connections have been meterised..
Other information about Ujjain district”: Ujjain district’s population is 19 lakh 86 thousand 597. It has 1096 villages. There are 3lakh 53 thousand 950 power consumers in the district. Number of permanent agriculture pump consumers in the district is 64 thousand 358. Power load in the district is 467 MW per day. It has 135 sub-stations of 33/11 KV and 488 of 11 KV and length of 33 KV feeders is 1557 kilometers, 11 KV lines 766 km, low-and low-tension lines 13 thousand 865 kilometers.
Benefits of campaign: Supply of power for 24 hours through Atal Jyoti Abhiyan will bring about prosperity and promote agriculture & economic growth and communication industries. People’s living standard will improve with increase in educational, health facilities and availability of more jobs. With increase in facilities in villages, villagers’ income will also increase through establishment of small and cottage industries. Under meter data acquisition system, reading on 33 KV and 11 KV feeders can be taken through remote control at central server. This will help keep constant watch over availability of power in various areas of the state.
