24-hour power supply to state’s consumer from January

Morena: Minister of State for Energy (independent charge) Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that the State Government has taken resolve to ensure 24-hour power supply in both urban and rural areas of the state from January 2013 and the resolve is going to be fulfilled soon. Shri Shukla was performing bhumi poojan of a 132/33 KV power sub-station at village Badagaon (Dimni) in Morena district and inaugurating a 33/11 KV sub-station at Morena Krishi Upaj Mandi on Thursday.

Shri Shukla said that power sector reforms are being made in the state at a cost of Rs. 10 thousand crore. He said that feeder separation scheme has been launched in the state with a view to solving power-related problems in the state. A target has been set to increase power generation capacity in the state by five thousand megawatts. Shri Shukla said that power distribution companies are undertaking feeder separation works on a war-footing. He informed that in Morena district alone, feeder separation works to the tune of Rs. 200 crore are being carried out.

Member of Parliament Shri Narendra Singh Tomar said that now the state is going to be rich in power sector. The works, which were not done in 50 years, have been carried out in last five years. The State Government led by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan are ensuring welfare of the poor, destitute, farmers and other sections of society.

MLA Shri Shivmangal Singh Tomar, Zila Panchayat Chairman Shri Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, Backwards Classes & Minorities Finance Development Corporation Chairman Shri Rustam Singh, several people’s representatives and officers were present on the occasion.
