11 lakhs girls benefited as Ladli Laxmi’ turns five

BHOPAL: More than 2.41 lakh girls of Jabalpur division will get Rs. 1 lakh monetary benefit under MP’s government Ladli Laxmi Yojana (LLY) launched five years ago, to bridge the skewed male-female sex ratio, officials said.

Total 11 lakh 42 thousand 352 girls have become Ladli Laxmis in the state. After  Jabalpur, Indore division had stood second in the scheme implementation with 1, 84,556 beneficiaries, followed by Ujjain with 1, 34,556 and Sagar divisions with 1, 20,578, officials said.

Around 1, 15,222 in Bhopal, 88,206 in Gwalior, 58,802 in Narmadapuram, 56,644 in Chambal and 55,023 girls in Shahdol divisions have come under this scheme, they added.

Among other divisions, one lakh 15 thousand 222 girls have been benefited in Bhopal division, 88 thousand 206 in Gwalior, 58 thousand 802 in Narmadapuram, 56 thousand 644 in Chambal and 55 thousand 23 girls have been benefited in Shahdol division.
Chhindwara has topped in the implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojna among districts of the state by benefiting 54 thousand 104 girls followed by Jabalpur (51 thousand 180 girls), Indore district (43 thousand 830 girls), Sagar (43 thousand 252 girls), Bhopal (37 thousand 101 girls) Balaghat (37 thousand 772 girls), Satna (36 thousand 989 girls), Betul (30 thousand 917 girls) and Seoni district (230 thousand 363 girls).
