Congress activists turned violent, hurl stones at Ramdev convoy

Bhopal. In a view to his controversial remarks against Cogress general secretary Digvijay singh, Yog guru Baba Ramdev’s convoy and procession was attacked allegedly by a crowd of Congress workers in Bhopal on Thursday afternoon.
The group of misceants targeted Ramdev’s car and threw stones at random while raising slogans against him. Ramdev escapes unhurt, though few stones hit his car and supporters. A Policeman is injured in the incident. Congrss workers were angry to Ramdev for recent controversial remarks against Digvijay Singh.
They intercepted him on the bypass and showed him black flags. they tore the banners and posters of Yoga guru in
diffrent parts of city. Later talking to journalists, Ramdev said he had not cursed digvijay singh and his statement interpreted out of context.
”I have not even taken Digvijay Singh’s name for the entire year. What i said was that his statements have been harming him only, both politically and also on a personal front”, said Ramdev.
Ramdev also said that his statement had been twisted and Congress was taking the path of violence.” I’d made the statement in a sympathic manner”, he further added.

The assault on Ramdev cavalcade came exactly a day after Congress workers of the AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh faction allegedly ransacked shops here in the Madhya Pradesh capital that sold the yoga guru’s herbal medicines. Wednesday’s vandalism was the result of certain comments made by Ramdev about Digvijay Singh and his family life. While vandalising the shops and beating Baba Ramdev’s pictures with shoes, the state Congress had threatened that they would beat-up the yoga guru if he landed in Bhopal.

On Wednesday, the state Congress media cell chairman Manak Agarwal had told reporters: “Baba Ramdev has gone insane after he dressed like a woman and escaped from Ram Lila Maidan. After his comments on our leader, we will not spare him. He is the greatest cheat in the country and we will beat him up if he comes here.”
