Two Terrorists Gunned down in Kashmir
Two militants were killed on Thursday in a gun battle with defence forces in Kashmir, said an army spokesman.
The incident took place in the mountainous border district of Poonch.
Spokesman said that the gun battle occurred after the army blocked off a house in Salwa village where some terrorists were hiding.
He said that the troops threw a barricade around the house on Wednesday evening and its inmates were rescued in night.
Then, militants and security personnel engaged in a gun battle. Later, army set off the house.
The army said that one of the militants was identified as a commander of the Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Toiba.
Lashkar-e-Toiba is the group which India holds responsible for the armed attacks in Mumbai last November in which more than 170 people died.
Troops are combing the area and sifting through the rubble of the destroyed house.
