Govt. to Extend All Help to Fishermen: Minister

Bhopal  —  Speaking at a function held at Kerwa reservoir under Sports Fisheries Development Programme, Minister for Fisheries and Agriculture Development Dr. Ramkrishna Kusmaria on Wednesday said the state government will extend all possible help to fishermen with a view to bringing them to the mainstream of society.

The Minister released seeds of endangered fish species into the reservoir.

Speaking on the occasion, Managing Director of Fisheries Federation Kanchan Jain said a programme for all round development of fishermen is being implemented at the Kerwa reservoir under Water Sector Restructuring Project of the World Bank.

Elaborating on the project, she said 200 kilogramme per hectare fish will be produced and an angling spot will be developed under Sports Fisheries programme.

Bhopal MLA Jitendra Daga was also present on the occasion.
