Tawang Prepares for Dalai’s Welcome

Tawang is all set to welcome spiritual leader Dalai Lama’s on his sixth visit to Arunachal Pradesh scheduled to start from tomorrow.

Colourful posters and pictures of the Dalai Lama and flags are set up at various locations for welcoming visitors to the place, where the spiritual leader had landed in 1959 following his escape from Tibet.

A security blanket has been thrown around the area, strategically located between – China and Myanmar, with the Tawang district administration making all efforts to ensure a peaceful visit of the leader whose visit has been resented by China which has laid claim to the sensitive border state of Arunachal Pradesh.
