BJP Has No Confusion over Caste-based Census: Javedkar

BJP has ruled out any confusion within the party over caste-based census saying that it was for Congress to explain its position on the issue, said media reports.

“There is no confusion on the issue of caste-wise census within BJP. It is for the Congress to explain its position on the issue,” senior BJP leader Prakash Javedkar was quoted as saying said while reaching the venue for the national executive meeting of the party beginning in Patna this noon.

He said that Congress was ‘rather confused’ over the issue of carrying out caste-wise census, reports said.

Talking about the national executive meeting of BJP, Javedkar said that various issues like internal security, Bhopal Gas tragedy, and issues related to Maoists problem and discrimination being done by UPA government to the states ruled by BJP would be discussed in the meeting, said reports.

Also, meeting would try to evolve strategy for the elections to the state assembly in Bihar scheduled at the end of the year, said reports.

He said that all senior party leaders including L K Advani, party president Nitin Gadkari, Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, chief ministers of the party would participate in the national executive, reports said.
