Khargone continues to be hottest in Madhya Pradesh

Temperature is close to 45 degrees: Heat wave-like conditions in Khajuraho; Mercury crossed 43 in Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratlam and Khandwa

The heat waves are increasing in Madhya Pradesh. Even today, Khargone remained hottest in the state. The maximum temperature was recorded here on Sunday at 44.8. Although the mercury here was 46 degrees on Saturday. Khargone was the fourth city in the world in terms of maximum temperature. However, compared to two days, the temperature decreased on Sunday. Here the mercury crossed 44 degrees in Khajuraho, Damoh and Naugaon. It’s like a heat wave here.

Scorching heat is prevailing in Bhopal as well. The maximum temperature of the capital was recorded at 43.3 degrees on Sunday. Due to strong sunlight and heat, people were seen avoiding coming out of their houses. The hot weather was also seen in Gwalior, Khandwa, Ratlam, Guna, Sagar. It was 43.6 degrees in Gwalior, 43.5 degrees in Khandwa, 43.5 degrees in Ratlam, 43.5 degrees in Guna, 43.3 degrees in Sagar, 43 degrees in Tikamgarh and 43 degrees in Shivpuri.

Along with the days in Khargone, now the nights have also become hot. The day’s maximum temperature was recorded at 44.8 degrees on Sunday. The weather has been clear since morning. A drop of 1 degree in temperature was definitely recorded on Sunday, but the heat and heat remained higher than Saturday. Due to strong sunlight on Sunday afternoon, there was less movement on the roads. There was silence in the main roads and markets. Very few people appeared on the streets. The effect of heat was also visible in the district hospital. Here also the patients were seen suffering from the heat. Coolers were missing from the wards in the district hospital. At the same time, relatives were seen giving air to the patients on the verandah outside the ward.

It was sunny in Bhopal since Sunday morning. Hot winds also blew. Due to this there was less movement of people even in the busiest markets like Kolar, MP Nagar, Bitton Market, New Market. Although it became cloudy after noon, but the effect of heat did not reduce. The atmosphere remained dry. The Meteorological Department has also expressed the possibility of cloud cover and drizzle in Bhopal for the next two days.

In Gwalior there is a curfew-like atmosphere on the streets due to strong sunlight and heat. Between 12 noon and 4 pm, the roads were deserted. Nautpa is scheduled to start from May 22, but before that the temperature has already crossed 43 degree Celsius. Due to the strong sunlight, even the asphalt on the roads has started melting. People kept avoiding coming out of the houses.

According to Meteorological Department official Shivam Srivastava, the maximum temperature in Khajuraho has been recorded at 44.4 degree Celsius on Sunday. Due to continuous scorching sun and clear weather, the temperature has also increased. He has also advised people to cover their faces while going out. People here are troubled by the hot winds. Heat wave-like situation prevails. Due to the heat, the Chandel period and ancient temple premises of Khajuraho also looked deserted.

There is some respite from the heat in Pachmarhi of Madhya Pradesh as compared to other parts of the state. The temperature here was recorded at 35.6 degrees on Sunday. At the same time, 40.8 degree para has been recorded in Indore.

Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, light drizzle with thunder and lightning may occur in Gwalior, Rewa-Chambal division from May 16 to 20. Rest of the places, the heat wave will remain sharp. Especially Malwa-Nimar will be very hot. The temperature here can remain around 44 degrees.

One of the reasons for increasing heat wave in Madhya Pradesh is the weather of Rajasthan and Gujarat. The temperature reached 46 degrees in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer on Saturday. Whereas, the temperature in Barmer, Bikaner, Churu, Kota remained 45 degrees or more. Similar is the situation in Gujarat. The effect of heatwave going on there is visible in Madhya Pradesh. The effect of heat has also increased in Khargone, Dhar, adjacent or nearby districts of Gujarat. At the same time, in Shajapur, Agar, Ujjain adjacent to Rajasthan, the mercury is more than 42 to 44 degrees.
