Nirupama’s Brother Files Complaint against Boyfriend for Abetment of Suicide

In new development in the case of mysterious death of Delhi journalist Nirupama Pathak, her brother has moved two applications seeking filing of a case against journalist’s boyfriend charging him of rape, cheating, abetment to suicide and criminal intimidation, said media reports.

Acting on the applications, Jharkhand police has seized mobile phone of Nirupama’s boyfriend Priyabanshu and will examine messages exchanged between the couple shortly before her death, reports said.

In the meantime, journalist’s suicide note was sent for forensic examination to find out if it was sexed up, said reports.

Priyabanshu was earlier interrogated by Delhi police on his relationship with Nirupama and her pregnancy. In addition, he was also taken to Nirupama’s house as part of the investigation.

Police have seized Nirupama’s laptop, a few diaries and some clothes and will question Priyabhanshu again on Saturday, reports said.
